You are a musician?
Me also! Have a listen to some of my stuff... it is very cyberpunk inspired, although I don't know if it will sound like anyone else's impression of what "cyber" means to them.
Our songs are about armies of genetically engineered mutants trained to conquer the world, and about demons and Cthulhu, and about war-driving and hacking wireless grids, dodging black ICE etc... the one on our mySpace page called "Gomi No Sensei" has the title taken from the short story the Winter Garden, and is about scavengers coming up from the underground at night to forage, once the atmosphere no longer shields the earth from deadly solar radiation.
the band is called Veterans of Future Wars, you can listen to our stuff here:

I am new here and I feel bad for only talking about my band so far... oh and kicking the RIAA's ass... that's good... anyway you asked and my own music is the best way I can tell you what cyberpunk sounds like to me. Our stuff is a little more industrial though; I have a mental/sonic impression of "pure" cyber music that is a little more synth-pop than what I tend to do with this band. _________________ the dystopian apocalyptic future is already here.

Nice links there Fargo!
I love Orbital, Tiesto and the Prodigy. Although I think the Original Faithless' Insomnia is better than the DJ Venom (not Tiesto) remix. My favourite remix is probably the 'Donatis' remix. _________________ -Just a thought-

Yeah, I think that most music would be anykind of industrial, or maybe something like a fusion of electro with heavy metal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4C5G2ua0Z8
Probably stuff by Sister Machine Gun or Mortiis, is what it could sound like in the future.

I agree with your picks Fargo, though I like Faithless' version of Insomnia better.
the Prodigy is a must for me, They incorporate the Techno and the Punk when I think of the genre.
Old school techo is also valid, Messiah and Acen come to mind.
edit: Now reading the replies I see illusivemind agrees with my post, or rather I agree with illusivemind's post. _________________

Wow, nice Isamashii. Love the genre-blending.
For me the harder edge, punk/industrial tone fits well with older cyberpunk but is too harsh for the soundtrack of the future (neo-cyberpunk ). Though I may be in a minority there. _________________ -Just a thought-

I don't know what this "electro" genre is.
Could someone please post an example... _________________
