There are utilities to correct that. I'm pretty sure DosBox has a feature that lets you slow it down

Dark Force!! That fight is HARD. I loved III, because you could play more than one generation. Hadn't seen that before.

ETA: I always thought it was cool that they included a Wren-type cyborg in IV

thx you both for your tips... although neither of them was useful for me Mr. Green
i'm an idiot.. i play dos games mostly over dosbox and yes, there is a feature to slow down.. pressing ctrl + f11
now Barbarian works fine...
i wonder how i came so far in this game as a child... i must have been more clever as child than nowadays.. :l
the game has very terrible controls btw...
it wanted to play it just to refresh my memories...
