I'd like to talk about a french comic book entitled HK. It's more Sci-fi than CP, but some themes are related to CP (conspiracy, transhumanism ...). Here is a little summary of the main plot :

"Little by little, the Axis takes back the control of its planets lost during the independent conflicts of fifty years ago. Avalon is one of these... On the mining spatial port, each welcomes the return of the federative troops in its way. the people remain dumb. Karl and his cousin Cédrick, small thieves of docks try to continue to live on robberies in spite of the restoring of the martial law. Lola Sterling (the daughter of the conciliator asked to negotiate the modalities of the collaboration with the Axis) refuses any compromise. She decides with friends sons of Ministers or tops-state employees to create a group of active resistance. But they only have known violence that in books and are quickly overtaken by events. Their meeting with Karl's gang, the Initials, is going to open their eyes on an inequitablev society in many aspects..."

the story was influenced by the Forever War(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Forever_War) and has many references to CP (Blade Runner, Neuromancer ...) Besides the story, many characters are pretty interesting (especially Buu-haalis, a combat cyborg fascinated by biological life ...) and the visuals are pretty cool. It reminds me of the Fifth Element in a manga style.

Unfortunately, the story was only published in France, Spain, Germany and Nederlands. I don't know if it can be found in english (what a shame !). Hope you will find a way to enjoy it anyway...

First 3 images are broken. And the lady with the explosives reminds me of the 80s rendition of Storm from X-Men. http://marvel.wikia.com/File:Rogue_Storm_Shadowcat_Lockheed_0001.jpg

never mind about the images, they work now.

Interesting. I've never heard about this one. (In the town where I live, there are sold mostly only Frankobelgician Joke Comics like Asterix or Tin Tin. Other styles of French comics like these of Moebius are much harder to find. (Yes there is the possibility of Internet Purchase of course but if you don't even notice that these series exist, there isn't a big chance that you'll read it.))

I know, the amount of reviews about Comic Books on the site is rather thin. I reviewed 2 Series (Judge Dredd and the Manga Clover), but I mostly concentrated on reviewing Anime and Video Games.

If you want to, you can write a Review about this Comic series you presented in the thread. If it's in the right form, it could also be uploaded on the main page by Mr.Roboto. (Although it will probably last very long till he uploads it.)

Frankobelgican comics are much more than Tintin or Asterix ... I'll eventually try to make a proper review someday, but I doubt it would be really useful. Most of our comics are nerver translated in foreign languages and most people here don't speak french ...
However, I'll continue presenting french cyberpunk comics, but unless people ask me for an entire review, I won't go any further.

I think it's definitely useful regardless if many people won't get the comic or have never heard about it. Mr. Roboto also really loves writing reviews about titles which aren't well known or even rather obscure.

Ok then, I'll give it a try.

Thanks. But, please think I am not in the position to decide which review gets uploaded. Mr.Roboto is the only one who can decide it. (And he has sometimes rather strange choices.)

Does that tanned lady gets gradually bald and more robot as the story progresses? B/c that's kinda hot.

Also, a month back I scored the Chronicles of Centrum, another ban desinne much more cp influenced about a government enforced hitman in the sprawl. I skipped making a thread b/c the only scans I found were in Spanish.

I think I'll a few other presentations of french productions and I'll review the one people here enjoy the most...

Sorry to dissappoint you but this lady remains 100% human... however a few other characters in the story have robot part. For example, Karl lost his legs in a mining accident when he was younger and has robot legs instead (which often have failure since they come from black market ...)

might of missed it, but I can't see anywhere listed in this thread who the writer is for this comic. Would be interesting to see if it was released in english or a fan translation done.

You're right. I completely forgot the author! the story is from Jean-David Morvan and the drawings are from Kevin "Trantkat" Hérault.
