the best advice I can give you is try as many guns as you can before buying one. Find what feels good to shoot.
Also, what for? A pistol's main advantage is that you can carry it everywhere- if you're not taking it outside of your house, a shotgun is a much better choice. If you're taking it WAY outside your house, get a rifle.

Despite a comment earlier, raceguns make effective personal defense firearms, provided you remove the extra furniture from around it that is unnecessary. But the skeletonizing and compensation (provided the latter does not make the weapon itself too lengthy) assist with quick and accurate shooting when just indexing as much as full out aiming.

My personal is a Para-Ord .45 that's been skeletoned, had the barrel replaced with a Nowlin barrel, uses a high-cap mag, and a few other standard tweaks (rounded hammer, custom trigger pull, etc).

Not to mention that seemingly every cyberpunk handgun is compensated.

Or suppressed.

Of course it is compensated, how else would you handle those +P+ armorpiercing loads?

Well not really sure how CP it but i personally stand by the Taurus Judge .410/.45 colt long revolver for ease of use and stopping power

Yeah, no. A regular .357 will do more damage than a .410. the Judge is what they call a "snake gun".

It looks cool, especially with the shotgun like shells, but he discussed it with his friends and they agree with him.

A slug from a .410 can reach similar levels of power with .44mag.
So it is a nice multipurpose gun.

Yeah, you could get quite a different result if you used say... flechette rounds. http://www.hi-vel.com/Catalog__25/Specialized_Shotshell_Ammuniti/specialized_shotshell_ammuniti.html

You could fit two, maybe three flechettes in a .410.
And the power of a .410 slug is more comparable to a .357 Magnum. the Judge/Governor/Thunder-5 is a neat idea, but it's overhyped. What I'd like to see is more revolvers chambered in .40S&W/10mm. Moon clips are neat.
