Now that Brazil got its Lulzsec branch the number of cyber attacks targetting the government and affiliates has increased, gaining media coverage and the likes.
So far, the official website of the presidency, our IRS and Petrobras (Brazil's biggest corporation, major oil and fuel producer) were the targets.
Some documents were uncovered, implying government corruption.

So, how about we make this an official thread to discuss cyber attacks around the world and if you support them or not.

Me, I'm all for it, because so far there were a few leaks proving top brass government corruption, that's reason enough for me.

What do you guys think?

I'm glad that things started moving at least in other parts of the world . Hopefully I'll be able to gather more people for the cause , here in Romania , but for now , most people I've talked to and considered worthy took it as "for the lulz" -_-

Oh well , eventually things will start moving .

Resist the system !

That's cool.

By the way I forgot to mention that my city is plagued with politicians. For the last few weeks the fuckin Mayor's WIFE was accused of corruption (something to do with bribes to the city's water supply company) and he stated he didn't had a clue. Hard to believe huh!

I truly hope all we're seeing is just a start

Would I especially like about these groups are there very loose structure, making them next to impossible to wipeout no matter how many "key members" are arrested but on the downside they could prove, in the right (i.e. very, very wrong) hands, to be the end of the free internet as we know it since governments will be hard pressed to deal with these attacks in any other way than limiting everyone's access.
In Denmark there are now talk of having to use your social security number to gain access to access points in the public arena and the government is also talking about making it illegal (yrah, that's right) for guests in your own home to use your own, private WiFi.
I once read a statement that claimed Canada to be America Lite, all of the Awesome, none of the Bullshit. Well, Denmark is turning into America Lite, it's just all of the Bullshit and none of the Awesome.
I weep!
But I do hope that Anonymous and Lulsec keeps it up until politicians and money grabbing fucktards learn that they're not safe anywhere, that they will not get away with their insane tricks.

Time to go hotspot sniffing for SSNs then.

the big question about Lulzsec, Anon and the rest is show widespread the knowhow is. If there are only a few that actually knows how to get in and the rest just act as noise, then they can be shut down. But it is distributed across the whole group then taking out a couple may just make the hydra grow a couple more heads.

On the subject of LulzSec, they are sooooo fucked.

Can't say I'm surprised. They pissed off a lot of folks in the tech community. Blowback was bound to happen.

For the last week or so, more attacks here in Brazil, happening in a almost daily basis.
This saturday people will take it to the streets, showing the discontent with our government in many cities.

About the knowhow, as far as I know if you have some knowledge, you're in, help being much welcomed.

If you do a quick search on IRC, you'll have find channels full of people getting together, organizing and stuff like that.
