We've got a world premiere set for Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre in Buffalo, NY.

More info coming soon! In the meantime keep an eye out on the facebook events page: www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=99350610810

Also! I can use some kickass trailers to place in front of the movie, so any other film makers here that want to pimp ther wares give me a PM.

You may have mentioned this before, but what is your intended arc for this? Do you plan to make it a trilogy? Wrap the story up with 3 shorts. Or go further than 3 shorts. Try to turn it into a tv series? Just curious.

Well... UCF was created as a thought experiment, 'can I design a series' that satisfies both my love of sci-fi world building - think Babylon 5 - and visceral comic book/anime action. Toronto Cybercide was designed both to be self-contained and as a pilot. You can see how the formula works; the Detectives' story-lines would follow a police procedural format, while the Marshal's stories are more about world building and 'mystery archaeology' -to borrow from Warren Ellis. Mostly it's built around a TV series format, as some of the plot ideas I fit into the idea of 'seasons'. For example, hypothetical Season 1 stories are set in Toronto, while Season 2 stories have the protagonists visiting other cities in the post-infopocalipse landscape.

the plots can be adapted into a serialized film format and that's the current default plan. I have a general plan for movies 3 and 4 (Familiar Children and Babylon Working). I wouldn't say it's a trilogy because I don't want to get stuck in a 3-step plot structure where there's no payoff until movie 3. Still, we're going to see how well Abstract Messiah does on the festival circuit. It's possible that we'll take the core of the 3rd film and divide that into a web-series, or alternatively laser focus our attention into a sexy 5 minute pitch reel to get financing. But we'd only do that if it's worth the effort.

At most all I'd want is for this hobby to pay for itself. I like my day job, after all. Cool

thanks for the info. It's always interesting to see how others go about the creative process. I like the idea of going to web series. Something like this that's Tech savvy and action oriented/ fast pace seems like it would be ideal for series of webisodes.
