PLANET://DAMAGE has been posting 'A Thesis on Gibson and Cyberpunk' as a series since last month. I've been meaning to post the links but kept forgetting (I did a forum search beforehand and didn't come up with anything, so forgive me if you guys have already seen this).

The first gasmask picture on the first link... scares me...

The thesis looks very well written at a glance, but my mind is still reeling from that initial impression, and I had to go wash it away with some soothing music visualisations.

It is, although reading it reminds me of the scenes in Johny Mnemonic where he bites down on something and says 'OK, hit me...' Very dense.

Apparently the author is a "key figure behind the cyberpunk PDF magazine THE DOSE" (issue #2 of which has an article on cyberpunk movies, incidentally).

Damage is pretty much THE main figure behind THE DOSE. He basically told me his blog was the magazine's new form. About issue #2, if I remember correctly SFAM reviewed a few movies for that article, right?

Indeed Kblack, and i also did some free 'advertising' for the Dose on the Cyberpunkreview forum.

I like the Dose a lot, waiting to read the next issue of it. Nice layout, nice pictures, interesting interviews, etc.

Scary isn't really the word that came to my mind.

He's a guest columnist for Cyberpunked as well. If anyone is interested, the article is also featured on our website.
